Dropzone Commander: Special Ops Scenario 3 (500th Post!)

Yep 500. A good bit of that was due to a spike in April as I did those micro posts on my painting challenge but still 500 seems like a good bit of verbiage for this little site. And yet I feel like there is so much more to say, to pimp out, and to play.

The April paint challenge didn’t sap my desire to paint more minis (thankfully) and I got to work on a little Dropzone Commander Scourge unit, the Screamer.

Dropzone Commander: Special Ops

The distraction of my Paint Challenge had slowed down my progress on my Dropzone Commander solo variant but I’m happy to say I’m ready to push on. I’ve put together art for the cards, written the rules and first scenario, put together the rules in their own layout.

Lighting Up The Guijia

With all the work now done on the Infinity Guijia Squadron model, I was able to show off the last little addition I made. With this biggest Yu Jing model in the game and TAGs being more of a centerpiece unit, I really wanted to make things stand out so in addition to the custom base topper, I also decided to build a custom base to house an LED and have the base light up.

April 30 For 30 Paint Challenge: Day 21

While my big TAG and sniper are being sealed, I moved on to complete the Infinity War Correspondent or WarCor for short.

April 30 For 30 Paint Challenge: Day 17

Finished up the head so the base orange is complete.

The Ruined City: Solo Test (Alpha)

With the rule concepts in place, it is time to test this sucker out. For this test mission, I simulated a “find and extract” scenario. In the bottom six cards of the 24 card event deck was the mission objective. When a squad searches and find that card, it has an objective and the final goal is to get it off the map where the army initially entered.

April 30 For 30 Paint Challenge: Day 1

First up for my 30 minutes (at least) of painting for 30 days is the Yan Huo from Infinity.

The Ruined City: Nesting

In Dr. Feitmarr’s press release, the new vampires were doing well. Checking back in and the group has swelled in numbers dramatically.

The Ruined City: Salt Chipping The Whips

Back with more on Dropzone Commander and fleshing out my Ruined City. This time, I’m looking at scatter terrain, namely making dozens of tiny cars work in my torn up city. EBay has 10mm (N scale) toy cars in bulk and Colton and I split a pack years ago for Dropzone Commander. Unfortunately, they look too clean to be in my city so I took a page out of friend Brian’s play book at dirtied them up.

The Ruined City: Tunnels And Ramps

Earlier this week I had started on my new Dropzone Commander layout, tentatively titled “The Ruined City.” I’ve now completed my double canal set and started working on other options like ramps to get from the base (table) level to the second level where most of the board will reside.
