Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great Christmas holiday. I used the break to line up a little more of what I needed to do to complete my large Test of Honour terrain piece. The biggest concern I had was how to wash the piece effectively without bulking up on expensive pre-made products. I decided to try my hand at making my own wash to see if it would work.
I had some time this week to jump back into the Batman Miniature Game and complete a new acquisition, Clayface. This is the new second edition model that is quite a bit better than their original one. It was also super easy/quick to paint up.
I hit a snag with my Test of Honour board in that I couldn’t find all the ingredients to make my own wash locally. They are now on order but I can’t do much until that package comes in. I do have some scenery terrain I’d been meaning to paint up and now was as good a time as any.
So with Tog suiting up, I needed to get the rest of my team in order. Our group decided to go easy on the first few Frostgrave sessions so we’re only pulling from the core rulebook. My original warband had a Captain but those don’t appear until later so I came up with a different group.

A master and an apprentice. We’re going to focus on that apprentice today. His name is Tog and he seemed very un-apprentice looking in my Frostgrave Warband. When we last left him oh so many months ago, he was based a little and still very “master of hunt.”
As part of my kitbashing experiment, I ordered up a couple of Dropzone Commander Leviathan hovercrafts to customize into some wacky new additions for the Resistance faction. As fate would have it, they came in and I was able to check out Mortal Engines in theaters. Sounds like the perfect time to start my custom rig.
With the nicer weather this week, I was able to get a little bit more done on my Test of Honour board. First, I finished up the leveling I was doing for the dojo placement and then I laid everything out to see the progress.
With 2018 coming to a close, I’m taking a look at my yearly challenges and, well, they don’t look good. The first one where I try to get through 100 games of a single game is going to fall woefully short. I’ll dive into the whys and wherefores after year’s end but getting more games of Walking Dead in before the end of the year won’t happen so even though it was abandoned long ago, I’ll officially admit defeat.

Over the weekend, I had the chance to start up another terrain project I’ve been thinking about. This time, it is a large 2′ x 2′ board for my Test of Honour set. I picked up large piece of 8′ x 2′ x 2 inch insulation foam with the intent of making something altogether different but that quickly didn’t pan out. Switching gears, I decided to try my hand at a full gaming board instead.
I was flipping through some links earlier this week and something caught my eye. I saw that Ferti and the US distributor, Eagle-Gryphon Games are making a new expansion to their dexterity game, Pitchcar. Curiously, they are going through kickstarter to fund it, which looks like a first for Ferti. Pitchcar expansions are all well and good but I was particularly struck by a particular add-on.
