Frostgrave: The Dark Prophecy, Session 4

Four prophecies were given,
Four Wizards foretold,
Only one can reap true,
For the Wizard most bold

Frostgrave: The Dark Prophecy

We ran another game of Frostgrave over the weekend and concluded our first four game campaign arc. A lot of this is retconning a bit to fit how we will likely move forward but this last game really solidified how I envision our campaigns run.

In the beginning, we had planned to run four games (not including our intro game) in a cycle so that people didn’t have to commit to too much and could bow out after a small campaign. While initially I thought we’d string scenarios together and just arbitrarily end it at session four, a narrative started building in my mind about where everything was going and with this last custom scenario I decided to rename this opening arc to The Dark Prophecy (that and the fact that our “winter campaign” took us well past winter so keeping that name seemed less than ideal).

Finishing The Job

I talked earlier of some new additions I’m making to my Frostgrave roster, namely some very un-soldiery soldiers. First up is an ode to a fallen friend, Mutt, the bear.

Preparatory Actions

This week hasn’t been an exciting week as I’ve been toiling with the starts of some projects that mainly include a lot of priming with the airbrush. I’ve really hit my stride with airbrush priming as my process is down to where it is easy and quick without the hassle of needing the weather or temperature to cooperate. The smells are also nicely cut down as well.

Plotting My Revenge

Ominous, I know. But sometimes you are so wronged, so completely abused that you can do nothing else save sulk off and concoct a plan to get even. In case you didn’t know, my Frostgrave wizard suffered a huge loss in the last game at the hands of a player that shall remain nameless (well nameless here. I drop all sorts of names in the report).

My animal companion, Mutt, died brutally on the fields of ruin. It was a heavy blow and there was nothing left to do but pick up the pieces of that broken heart and move on.

Frostgrave Campaign: Session 3

As mentioned earlier this week, a few of us got together to continue on with some more Frostgrave. We had originally called this a winter campaign but the days of winter have long past so I’ll just keep it simply as our campaign.

Back To Felstad

We were able to revisit the wonderful frozen city of Felstad this weekend as we threw down an epic game of Frostgrave. Sadly, I don’t have a report up yet but wanted to take a moment to show off some gratuitous setup shots that show off all the work Colton and Reese have done to bring Frostgrave to our table.

Finishing Up For Cabin Con

We started our annual Cabin Con yesterday but I ran out of time to post what I was able to finish up for some of our premiere games. First up is painting up my Frostgrave Tavern base for my wizard band.

Basic Needs

A while back, I wanted to make an actual base for my Frostgrave crew and found a great cottage/tower model. My friends were able to print it out but found that the components were extremely time consuming (not to mention a lot of material). We decided to scale it back a bit from the original idea and I finally got around to completing the project.

Lost And Found

Looking through my desk for errant items, I always open up one drawer in particular. It’s dumb because I know exactly what is in that drawer as it is the same thing that has been in there for year: my defunct Circle of Orboros army from back when I attempted to learn Hordes/Warmachine.
