With the Thanksgiving Holiday came a much needed break. Things are still pretty hectic but I’ve still been able to work on some projects. Mainly, more of my Inked re-theme of The Walking Dead Here’s Negan board game. Having gotten the figures mostly complete, I’ve run into the same issue I usually have with these ventures: terrain.

It’s almost Halloween and that has me looking at horror-themed games, especially Walking Dead. While I haven’t found time to put it in the general rotation, I did have an experiment I wanted to try out. I’ve seen some very talented painters do things in a comic-style paint scheme and I wanted to try it out a little bit but in my own way.
I had wired up my new lanterns a while back but they still needed some finishing touches to complete them. Namely, they needed painting and some final assembly.
Busy week this week so I was only able to mess around with one of the shots I made for the banner image. More Frostgrave fun for the week.
In the saga of another long-term project, I am nearing the end of my Test of Honour small-game board. This 2′ x 2′ board will be used to run micro games of very small groups like my Dojo Assault scenario created last year. I finished up applying my homemade wash earlier and wash able to add some of the near-final details like dry brushing and some permanent plants.
I hit a snag with my Test of Honour board in that I couldn’t find all the ingredients to make my own wash locally. They are now on order but I can’t do much until that package comes in. I do have some scenery terrain I’d been meaning to paint up and now was as good a time as any.
With the nicer weather this week, I was able to get a little bit more done on my Test of Honour board. First, I finished up the leveling I was doing for the dojo placement and then I laid everything out to see the progress.
The week is winding down but I have a few final things that were completed just under the wire. The first is one of my first attempts at scatter terrain. I don’t do a lot of this as I usually buy a scenery piece and paint it up. This time I wanted to have some bamboo-based terrain and that isn’t easy to outright buy so I had to make my own.
