a pursuit of fruitless endeavors and endless refinements

Impromptu Painting

We got lucky this week and had a rare opportunity to get in some mid-week gaming and with the end of the year looming, I pushed to get in another game of Batman in.  From our last game, we weren’t convinced Commissioner Gordon was a good fit for my friend’s Batman crew.  My friend didn’t have time to work up an alternate model so I took advantage of the good weather to work up one of my SWAT henchmen.

Lost Projects and Revisions

The weather last week was pretty great and seeing that the forecast would turn a bit colder, I used the opportunity to get the rest of my Walking Dead: All Out War minis primed.  Hopefully I can get into a routine again during the long winter nights and finish up the bulk of them.

Batman! A Tale of Metal and Dice

Lately, I’ve gotten back into comics and I jumped all-in on a big crossover event in the DC universe, Dark Nights Metal.  It’s a massive, crazy story line that has pushed me into a lot of different comic titles as the events spill across the DC Universe.  I haven’t been in a comic book store in twenty years or more so its been interesting coming back into that hobby.  I don’t expect to stay in the hobby full time but it’s nice to jump in on occasion.

Cabin Con 2017 Recap

Our yearly game gathering, Cabin Con, has come and gone.  It was a great time this year and I think we’ve hit our stride as we’ve done this enough times to relax a bit on the planning and still have it work very well.   Six of us were there this year and we hit a ton of game over the four and a half days.  Below is a quick recap:

Lighten Up, Gotham!

In preparing for last weekend’s CabinCon, I also was able to finish out another languishing project that I initially started as a concept back in March: light up street lamps for the Batman Miniatures Game.

Batman Miniature Game: Frank Miller Batman vs Jared Leto Joker

Well my friend and I pushed and we were able to get some paint on some models, slap together a “demo” squad of 150 reputation (“points” in this game), and get a learning game done.
