Dropzone Commander 2e: A Day Of Battles

A friend has made it a tradition to host a day long session of Dropzone Commander for his birthday. While the timing of when we host this changes based on availability, it is a great chance to get a group together and explore more of the Dropzone universe. With the recent rules getting a much needed FAQ and Errata, we were finally ready to put the official rules to more use.

Test Of (dis)Honour: Full Game

As I was going through my notes from a game of Test of Honour this past weekend, I realized that it was our first full game. We’ve messed around with my Dojo Assault stuff and we ran through some of the previous edition’s opening scenarios but none of those brought it all together as the complete and likely intended game.

As if to remind me that I still have a bit of work preparing for our next Frostgrave game, we decided to throw down a full (24 point) game of Test of Honour on the frozen ruins of an oddly-themed mapped. Fitting enough though, our minis were all various stages of grey (for now).

Fine Tuning

I’m wanting to move on to more varied setups for Test of Honour so I’m trying to tweak my “Dojo Assault” scenario a little more. My friend was able to come out again and run through another iteration of the scenario, last seen last week.

Frostgrave Campaign: Session 3

As mentioned earlier this week, a few of us got together to continue on with some more Frostgrave. We had originally called this a winter campaign but the days of winter have long past so I’ll just keep it simply as our campaign.

Back In The Samurai Again

While I was recapping my Gen Con adventures, I was not idle in my other projects. Things have been boiling under the surface and the time needed to prepare for Gen Con had stalled many other projects out. Now free to roam wild, I have set myself upon these languishing projects and worked them up into something useful.

Today is all about Test of Honour.

A Farewell To First Edition

Dropzone Commander has been a great ride and even with all the ups and downs of the last few years as the original company was sold and a new edition announced, it still holds a lot of weight with my friends. The UKGE convention happened over the weekend and the first salvos of the real 2nd edition have landed.

I complained last week that releasing the book without unit stats will be dangerous unless the online builder is released as well and it seems they did just that. There is still a bit of dust for TTCombat to clean up with the new army builder in Beta and having some obvious errors but the company seems fully committed and that is really all we can hope for.

While 2nd edition gets cleaned up for its official opening later this month, we decided to do one last game in 1st edition to give the original a final and proper send off.

Infinity Full Sample

I still want to finish up the Operation Red Veil final mission but I got an opportunity to throw down a full 300 point game this weekend and put together a quick report. Due to time constraints and my inexperience with the rules, we only got to play one full round but it was enough to see the game in more detail.

Batman Miniature Game: Big Boy Brawl

As I mentioned last week, we got in a nice game of Batman Miniature Game last weekend. I decided to go back to my roots a little bit and post in the comic format. This isn’t a narrative comic like I’ve done with Walking Dead but I like how it allows the story come out with the pictures more than the text. We’ll see how well it does but as I refine the process a little more, I should be able to post these a little easier.

Infinity Red Veil: Mission 4

For Infinity’s Operation: Red Veil, mission 4, I had a little bit more work to do as they added the Hsien Warrior. This is a pretty impressive figure with the imposing, Captain Morgan stance.
