With Infinity done I still have a lot of minis vying for attention but I turn now to one model that I thought would be the focus of this challenge until I got distracted by Infinity and ended eating up most of the month finishing up.
This model is something I’ve had for months and was probably the biggest catalyst for me to branch out into a new game system. I’d hidden him from view from my friends as I wanted to surprise them when I showed up with this badass on the field…

Mwahahaha! It’s Archaon, the Everchosen. Exalted Grand Marshal of the Apocalypse. He might not look like much, especially with only a little priming and some initial dry brushing but that is because I have him dismounted from his terrible steed.

Behold! His (currently headlesseses) steed Dorghar. As I said, I’ve had this dude since late last year and spent a good portion of the holiday assembling and priming him.

Like the rider, I have the heads off as I didn’t think I’d be able to paint them all crammed together on the body.
For the paint scheme, I was inspired by the GW painting tutorial for the model on youtube, led by Duncan Rhodes.

I’m a little over 20 minutes into the tutorial after tonight’s session and it has really just focused on a lot of dry brushing. The highlight of the session was finishing out the tail with a fiery effect for the end.

I don’t know if I’ll keep up the 30 minutes per day routine but hitting Archaon the Everchosen, Exalted Grand Marshal of the Apocalypse with more paint every day to get him done sounds fun. And I get to write Archaon the Everchosen, Exalted Grand Marshal of the Apocalypse a lot more, which amuses me.
