After pushing through some of the base painting of Fat Yuan Yuan, I got back in the rhythm and was able finish his “attack” sculpt up. The sculpt really started to come together at the end when I started working on the wash and shading. I didn’t much to highlight things and the brush was a bit sloppier than I would have liked but he’s done and that is the most important part.
With Fat Yuan Yuan done, I was able to spend the rest of the weekend painting the rest of my Infinity figures’ armor.
That is a lot of orange armor but now it is just the detail work to finish these guys.
And, even more exciting, I got to put the first work on the Su Jian in an alternate color scheme. This scheme comes back to one of the colors I liked before that I decided not to try.
I felt like the orange would be too much for the attack kitty unless I was going full tiger. While I like the idea of going with the tiger stripes concept since it seems to be a running theme I have:
Of course, if I’m going tiger kitty, I should battle kitty.
We’ll see if I can pull it off with the Su Jian battle kitty. Hopefully I don’t have to match the stripes exactly to make the transformed figure concept work as well.
