I was able to base up the new Test of Honour figures so I got them primed up to prepare them for painting. The process was quick as I haven’t put a lot of effort into basing my TOH figures (just white glue and sand) but they came out nice and I’m looking forward to getting some paint on them.

This week hasn’t been an exciting week as I’ve been toiling with the starts of some projects that mainly include a lot of priming with the airbrush. I’ve really hit my stride with airbrush priming as my process is down to where it is easy and quick without the hassle of needing the weather or temperature to cooperate. The smells are also nicely cut down as well.
My friends have really gotten into the Frostgrave spirit but I thought I should finish up some pending models before I forget. Those models would be my small Test of Honour set. I have had my Ninjas and Samurai ready and primed for a while now and recently thought that I should prime my Ninjas in a dark color to make painting them up go so much quicker. I grabbed the models and got to work.
ugh. What the hell?!
We got lucky this week and had a rare opportunity to get in some mid-week gaming and with the end of the year looming, I pushed to get in another game of Batman in. From our last game, we weren’t convinced Commissioner Gordon was a good fit for my friend’s Batman crew. My friend didn’t have time to work up an alternate model so I took advantage of the good weather to work up one of my SWAT henchmen.
Fall is here in Colorado and minis painters know that can only mean one thing: Winter is coming. More importantly, spray paint-killing cold weather is coming. So like most minis painters that don’t have an indoor vent box, I’m doing my fall priming to get models ready for painting during the longer winter months.
Before I can even prime models though, I have to clean them. I’m working on getting through my current Dropzone Commander backlog so today I’m working on Hawk Wargames miniatures. Hawk produces some pretty clean models and I’ve only encountered one set out of all my purchases that had enough flash on the sprues to make life difficult. Seeing how I’ve bought at least 20 different little model sets from them, I’d say that is pretty good.
