Walking Dead Wednesday: Solo Scenario Sessions

Lately, I’ve been troubled by the lack of challenge in the Walking Dead: All Out War scenarios.  I played through the Days Gone Bye scenarios and only found them challenging when “role-playing” a character to do non-strategic moves or artificially inflating the challenge like adding the Night Fighting event card.

I decided to give the next crop of scenarios one last shot before I start making some sweeping changes.

Gen Con 2018, T-minus 203 days

The beginning of the year doesn’t just include resolutions and goals but it means preparations.  Even though August is a ways off, planning for the biggest show of the year, Gen Con, starts now.  Yesterday, the first volley of activity for this great convention started with the opening of event submissions.

2018 Game Challenge

I’ve had all week to think about what, if any, game challenge I’d like to try in 2018.  I thought about a doing another 6 x 6 or pushing to a 10 x 10 but the rigidity of the structure seems like it might limit what I try to play all year.  I think the benefit of completing my 6×6 last year is it means I still have momentum to play most of the games on last years list.  I’ll still do Dropzone either casually or at my local gaming store.  My friend and I are still very much into the crunch of the Batman Miniature Game.  I want to see what new thing Championship Formula Racing has in 2018 and might try out one of the PBEM (play by email) sessions.  And Walking Dead is back to consuming a lot of my hobby time.

So the thought was to either do nothing or try something new and since I’m very goal-oriented, I chose the latter.

Walking Dead Wednesday: Vanity Affair

The New Year is upon us and I thought I’d start up my Walking Dead Wednesdays again.  I don’t think I’ll be running these every week but we’ll see.  I’m hoping this will push me to get through my backlog of Walking Dead minis to paint up.

Adding to my minis, I decided to cut way ahead in line and paint up a very new addition to my Walking Dead minis: Me!

2017 6×6 Gaming Challenge Conclusion

Happy New Year! The end of 2017 saw a flurry of gaming as I finished up my year-long 6×6 challenge at the eleventh hour.
