I have the last game of our Dropzone Commander Winter Campaign coming up and the event coordinator wants to use the Aegis Orbital Defense Laser as the focal point. I’ve been wanting one of these for a long time so I thought it was high time I picked one up.

Welcome back, Walking Dead fans! I didn’t get to paint up a new survivor but the show must go on and The Pit is hungry. So without further adieu, I have Carl Grimes, Trainee Sharpshooter taking on The Pit.
It’s Ladies’ night Carl. Hope you can handle it.
Cutting apart my X-wing Miniatures Game Ghost model to customize the shuttle docking bay was just a precursor to my next big X-wing project: Uglies.
It’s funny how projects can get set aside and then sudden inspiration will strike and move the project forward. A friend of mine got me a Phantom II ship pack for the X-wing Miniatures Game. While very nice, I had initially made fun of the ship because I wasn’t aware of what it was- a replacement shuttle for the Ghost in the Rebels cartoon series. Being tied the Ghost, I was more interested and dug out my Ghost, still in its box.
It wasn’t sealed because it was part of a custom project I had started back in June, ran into some trouble and shelved to be completed at a later date. That date became last night.
I recently picked up a Collector’s Edition set of Walking Dead: All Out War even though I own about 90% of it already. Why? Well, I really wanted the two show exclusive packages that came with it and figured I could always put the other duplicate components to use later.
One of the figures that caught my eye was the next incarnation of Dale, his “Prison Advisor” role.
Riding high from my win in the first Miles Behind Us scenario using my Hardcore rules, I decided to push on and hit Chapter 2: Leaving Wiltshire Estates.
edit: rules recap:
Hardcore Mode:
- When a card says to move or select a walker, choose a survivor and select the closest walker to that survivor. That walker then activates or moves to the nearest survivor.
- When walkers enter play, choose a character and place the walker as close to that survivor as possible per the normal rules (not within the survivor’s killzone).
- If a character takes the Hold Your Nerve action, it is the only action the character can take that turn.
Lately, I’ve been troubled by the lack of challenge in the Walking Dead: All Out War scenarios. I played through the Days Gone Bye scenarios and only found them challenging when “role-playing” a character to do non-strategic moves or artificially inflating the challenge like adding the Night Fighting event card.
I decided to give the next crop of scenarios one last shot before I start making some sweeping changes.
The New Year is upon us and I thought I’d start up my Walking Dead Wednesdays again. I don’t think I’ll be running these every week but we’ll see. I’m hoping this will push me to get through my backlog of Walking Dead minis to paint up.
Adding to my minis, I decided to cut way ahead in line and paint up a very new addition to my Walking Dead minis: Me!
Happy New Year! The end of 2017 saw a flurry of gaming as I finished up my year-long 6×6 challenge at the eleventh hour.
In my comic sessions, I’d mapped out an order of the existing scenarios in the Days Gone Bye expansion to fit the storyline I wanted to create. My goal in running those was to use the recommended set up so I could also follow the story and balance the designers were creating. In plotting our my own story, I couldn’t get one of the scenarios to fit so I decided to play it “straight” at the end of my 6 x 6 challenge.
